My name is Simon Dickson, and I’m the principal consultant at Puffbox Ltd, a website consultancy with a particular focus on news and government work.

This used to be where I blogged about e-government, the online news business, and the ‘new politics’. But since Puffbox started to happen, I moved everything over there. So this site exists only as a historic record.

I was born in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. I went to Towerview Primary School and Bangor Grammar School, before doing a combined business and modern language degree at Aston University, including a year at the École Supérieure de Commerce Nantes-Atlantique. These days I live in Newbury, which is very handy for Reading, Basingstoke, Bracknell, and anywhere along the M4 corridor, including (at a push) Bath, Bristol or Swindon. We’re on a direct train line for London Paddington, but I try not to spend too much time in the capital. You’re probably wondering, is this relevant? Well, yes, but only in case people might use it to search for me on Google.
